OUR HISTORY

HELP FOR ORPHANS IN CAMEROON WILL CHANGE TO BUILDING MINDS AFRICA SOON

The groundwork of help for orphans in Cameroon started in 2012 when HELEN TABE the founder and general coordinator after reading counseling psychology at the higher teachers training college went for intenship in social centers and orphanages in the Fako division in the south west region of Cameroon. She discovered the poor psychosocial/ interactive behaviors of orphans which affected their cognitive and emotional health. Helen and a group of psychologists, teachers, medical doctors and social workers decided to form an association to provide quality education and to improve the mental health of orphans. The association was registered in april 2014 as a community based non profit organisation.  The program is managed locally by 7 board members and 45 volunteers.
